Re: Poor running
Haven?t done it for awhile but clearing code, I believe, involves disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes.
Hitting metric button and gauge button is for clearing oil change reminder light.

Re: Poor running
May be disconnect map sensor hose and start the car. If no difference, may be MAP sensor gone bad.
You shorted the ALDL into diagnostic mode and after flashing ?12?, no more codes. Right?

Re: Poor running
Assuming you are new to ZR-1 (and you may not be), a lot of LT5s ended up with leaky injectors due to OEM injectors not fairing too well with ethanol found in gasoline.
Has the car run poorly since...

At least for Bill, H42 was caused by low voltage at battery.
Based on my experience from way back when, did you check vacuum line from MAP sensor...

Re: Vacuum line replacement
Typical auto part chains - advance auto part, autozone - have a rack with rubber fittings. You can trip air broken sections with rubber fittings.

Re: Seat cover recommendations
I redid my 94 with Al Knoch corvette seat covers. Also helped another Wazoo member with 90 sport seats. You will need hog rings and hog ring plier.

Very nice story. I was at Amelia Island around July-August 2000 right after picking up my 94 in Alabama.

Re: A New Guy Around Here
I had a 93 850ci - 5 litre V12. I think 290 hp, if I remeber correct. Beautiful car but weighed I think around 4,200 lbs. I missed my 91 Z so much I sold the BMW in 2000 and found my 94 Z with 30,000...

Re: Items to look at with a 100K commuter car
Glad to hear that you have already replaced the radiator. Silicone hoses are great. Just remember to check and tighten all hose clamps at least once a year. Somehow silicone hoses have tendency...

Re: Items to look at with a 100K commuter car
If the car has OEM radiator, I strongly recommend replacing with a high quality all aluminum radiator. Plastic tank on the passenger side of OEM radiator typically fail around 80,000. Had it happen...
