Question on Sound Deadening Material for Interior

I think even thin product would reduce buzzing noise if a particular piece was buzzing. I applied 1/8? thick foil product on the transmission tunnel under the car and it reduced heat coming through substantially. Might have reduced the road noise a bit but not very noticeable since I didn?t do the entire floor.
