Default Need advice for battery replacement

Hi all,

May be you can help?

My battery ac delco is dead (strange to me as it was electrically fed during the whole winter times, no ?), and the Chevrolet dealer in Luxembourg does not have any similar battery available, same as all dealers in Europe, and because the official corvette importation company went bankrupt...

My current dead battery shows the following reference 75 5MF and 550 CCA. it is not the original battery but I assume it has the correct characteristics fro my 1994 ZR1

My Chevrolet dealer can only provide me with a none delco but similar size battery with 460 CCA as single reference

Is 460 CCA enough and harmless for engine start or should I better order myself directly an ac delco with 550 CCA from the USA?

Thanks for your support

You might try locating a braille battery or an odyssey. Both should have Euro retailers, they are lighter weight and more compact.

I believe 690 CCA is the original requirement/spec.

Thank you dbriana

ok, so 460 CCA would definitely be way too weak to start the engine properly, should it not start at once. I am out for holiday at the moment and forgot to take the original (maximum) battery dimensions. So unless anyone has such dimensions in mind, I will wait to return home to get those figure qnd try to find the right replacement battery.

Thanks again

Hi there

I eventually got an Xtreme battery with same dimensions and connectivities, and original 690 CCA as well. It is a sub-brand of APEX if I am correct. It works fine

Thanks again for your help
