The part was not difficult to install with the exception that you need a steering wheel puller to remove the wheel and there is a wire clip that holds the lock plate on. Compressing the spring to remove and install it was not an easy job, but I was able to do it with a small screwdriver and lots of thumb pressure. ![]() The new part was identical to the one I removed, but it came with a black piece of plastic that was glued on the outside, covering the brass tabs you see in the first picture. I just peeled it off and all else was identical. I apologize for not taking additional pictures and being more detailed. I just noticed from the web search that horns were a problem with these cars and no one had an actual part number for the needed piece. Plus I was trying to give back a little knowledge for all the help I am getting here. Below is a picture with the steering wheel off and a view of the lock plate. The wire clip is below the wave washer in the picture. ![]() Please feel free to ask additional questions! Last edited by Rumbln70SS; 07-07-2014 at 10:30 PM. |
