I believe you are correct, porting and some change in cam grinding , gave it the 30hp gain . I know chevrolet used to retard cam timing years ago for emissions and hp reduction to meet standards.

Horsepower difference ?
Heres a dumb question...........the first ZR1's had 375 hp , then it jumped to 400 hp, what change or addition made the difference in horsepower gain ?

Try the coolant temp sender , if its not working correctly , it wont send the correct reading to the ecm . And put a gm part back in ! some aftermarket parts just dont meet the grade !

Check the brake light switch , some have vacuum lines ,that have an o-ring that goes bad . Its good to have a mighty-vac tool to check for leaks in vacuum lines .

I have a gauge on the fuel rail and it has about 55 lbs. I thought if vats was causing it, it would not let the starter spin ? is it possible to stop the injectors from working and not the starter ?

No Hot Start , found the problem ....
Once again the "no hot start" issue is a no fuel issue ! I have fuel to the rails , good pressure , good spark , but something is causing the injectors not to fire when its hot . I spray carb cleaner...
