Default 1990 body style v's 1991-95

When I was looking long and hard for my ZR1. I spent alot of time trying to decide which one I like better. I decided I like the 90 because it was the oldest and so different from the other 1990 vettes. I also really like the 2 shark gills on the side.

Did anyone else worry that much about the body style?

The best part about a 1990 Z is when you open the hood.....

I chose a '90 Z because of the same reason. Even though there are more '90 Zs, they are different. That, and since my dad's owned an '84 for decades, I grew up with that design and liked it a lot.

Just get the one you like the best, because when it comes to a ZR-1, you can't go wrong.

I don't worry about it. But I love the early C4 body style.

I have to fess up... my interest in the ZR-1 was initially (1) LT5 and (2) a wonderful piece of Corvette lore... I was not really taken by the body style. I seemed a if there were C1,2 & 3 then C5 and C6 'and oh yes then there was a C4 in there.." But as I began to look more and more at the car the design began to appeal to me and I as wrote for an article "I admit what first drew me was the heart of the beast and not so much its clothing much like a first date that maybe had a few visible flaws, but a wonderful heart and personality. But as time went by I began to appreciate the ZR-1 in all of its attributes..."

It did not take long before I liked the design...both original and revised (although more 90s were produced, I feel they remain the more exclusive due to being unique in design compared to the non ZR C4 ... WHY GM put the ZR butt on all C4s is beyond me ). I also noticed that the C4 has a "lighter" look to it over the C5 and C6....I did a photo shoot of my ZR and C6 together and to me it just looks smaller? lighter? (yes actual weight the ZR is about 300 lbs heavier than the C6 and the C6 makes all other of the Cs' aerodynamic bricks)

But yes...I very much like the design of the 90 ZR-1

For me it was after I looked at what I could buy with my "corvette budget" the ZR-1 was the most bang for my buck. It turned out that my 90 fit nicely within that budget, so that's what I bought.

I guess I could have waited till now and got more ZR-1 for my cash, but then I'd have missed all the fun that I've had for the last 4 yrs using my 90Z. Yep, I like my 90 ZR-1 just fine!

Everybody knows that Red '90's are the prettiest, fastest, coolest ZR1's ever made.

'nuff said.

For me, I prefer the 91+ nose. The 90 one looked a bit clumsy to my eye where the later one just seems to finish the whole package off. I like the 90 gills though and think they're all cool.

I don't like the C5s and 6s though. The c5 was nice at the front but always looks way too heavy at the rear. The C6 rear is a little better but the nose is awful and the whole car lacks personality to me.

Just my twopenneth.

About sums up my thoughts too -- though once in a while, I see a '90 that just looks right to me, and I can't figure out why. I'd still own one, just not as my first choice.
