Default Tire Pressure Sensors

I'm thinking about having all of mine pulled out as I understand this will turn off the warning the light. I know that the driver's side rear is the bad one.

My question is, once I have these pulled, is there a test to confirm that the other 3 are in good working order once they are pulled from the vehicle?

I'm going to store them for now and I'd hate to send them to someone if they don't work in the future.

Thanks,

Jason

MY 90-91 are the only years you can pull out all the sensors on the wheels and the service LTPWS light will go out. MY 92-95 the light will stay on if the sensors are pulled and those folks have to pull out the light blub from the DIC or get a piece of electrical tape.

The short answer is no once they are pulled they cant be tested because they emit a frequency while spinning. I have heard of a Kent moore testing kit and a module tester as a part of the tech-1 gm analyzer is the only way to test these. For now Id take your paper clip pull all the codes and see what tests good. When you sell them you can say you at least verified they tested good before sending them.

I have a '91 with no sensors installed but the LTPWS light stays on. I don't believe the car has been driven a great deal since the sensors were removed.
Is there a miles driven or number of starts parameter that must be met before the light goes out?

Did you clear all the stored codes? Both the MY 90-91 are supposed to work with no light once the bands are pulled

No Daryll, I haven't done anything yet. Just found this thread while searching LTWPS to see if I had more options than pulling the bulb from the DIC.

With my '95, the light stayed lit until the sensors were back in place - but if it wasn't driven far enough after they were installed, the light would come back upon the next start.

I'll clear any codes, drive it a bit with fingers crossed and see what happens. Thanks!

I think for MY 1991 if you pull the codes it will tell you which ones do not work. For MY 1990 you can't tell unless you have a tester or go through the process in the service manual.
