I was just wondering the same thing. Especially the suspension and aluminium parts.

The wheel wells had been rattle canned at some point (aargh) with black. I had some toluene, put it on a rag and wiped everything (except the shocks) down with that first. This bubbled up the paint, but didn't hurt the plastic. Then I soaked a scotchbrite pad with it and did it again making sure to remove the bulk of the flaked black paint. Then I used a LOT of Gunk on the differential, suspension and shocks and such, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, then rubbed everything with a soft tire brush which removed / loosened most of the dirt. Then hit it with the pressure washer. Once everything was dried, I again hit everything with Simple Green and rubbed down what I could get to.
Then I used Adams Products VRT on a detail sponge and wiped everything down really good again, waited for it to dry and then wiped it down again with a microfiber towel. I am pretty happy with the results and still have the detailing to go.

Hell yeah I have a job, but certainly wish I was independantly (or dependently, would be OK too) wealthy. I work 10's though, Tuesday-Friday.
There's not a lot of cost in this kinda stuff, just time and elbow grease.
