Default A/C compressor seal

anyone know where to buy one? Looking for the front seal for my 93 Ruby (non ZR-1), but I think the compressors are the same. Any special tools needed?

Don't know about the tools but try Rock Auto for the Seals

I don't know about seals, but the compressor for an LT5 is not the same as for an LT1. I am preparing to replace the AC Compressor in my '93Z.

What is different? looking at mine whe it was apart, aside formt eh outlet/inlet lines being different, the compressor itself looks to be the same Nippondenso unit on my 89. although I might need to look again

John,

If you're talking about the shaft seal on the Nippo it's actually behind the cylinder head and only the "felt" forward of the cylnder head was serviced seperately.
I can send you an image of the compressor disassembled if your interested. You will need an image viewer for the GM catalog that I'll send you information on. Should run on your "MAC"!
The shaft seal on the backside was available as part of a master gasket set for quite a number of years but is "no longer"! I've never tried to buy the shaft seal but I believe I could. I've done some unusual AC on armored vehicles with odd refrigeration systems! Patience!
I've got your e-mail!
I get in generally around 7:15 in the evening!

Ok Dave, that would be great. The front of the compressor is slinging oil on the underside of the hood. After getting a few opinions, I think it needs whatever seal is in the front of the compressor. It still blowing cold air though as of now
