Default LT-5 DIY Top End Head Port Match

Definitely not for the faint of heart.
Couple of pics on my first attempt at matching IH and Cylinder Heads.

From the picture I couldn't tell, but are you knife edgeing the divider in the heads which would mean the IH divider is gone or was I just seeing things?

I was asking cause I did work to mine this winter and just got it back toghether and it pulls hard to 7 and didn't before, but haven't had it on a dyno yet.

I wanted to remove the whole divider in the IH's instead stopped about .75 inch down from top of IH, can't feel there's any lose of middle torque.

Maybe next winter remove the rest unless that would be too much? Need spare set of IH.

lb,

No, not on the heads. I pretty much left the area between the primary and secondary ports alone. Most of the material that needed to be removed for the port matching was on the outer portion or around the 2-4 o'clock position. The spray primer I used left something that looked like a "crescent moon" around the port opening. I didn't touch the secondaries. The IHs do have ports ( look on some previous posts) where the divider is quite thin but none that have been removed.
Once you did yours, how much of a change did you need to make to the fuel tables in the calibration?

Looked back at your previous posts, all lookin good

Don't know what was done to fuel table, Marc Haibeck burned a chip. He relates it to hp. Last year with headers, b@B, chip was set for 425 hp with secondaries deactivated but blades still there just saftied open and it was burning good on the dyno.

This year with porting and b@b resonator traded for straight pipes and secondary blodes removed. Marc added 40 hp to chip to be on the safe side. Have to get it on a dyno with O2 sensors to check it out but it feels like it's running good with this tune.

Haven't decided whether I can take the drone with the resonator removed yet, would like to do a dyno comparison with resonator in and out.

Any type of head porting with heads still in the car would scare me just a LITTLE to say the least!

Destroyer,

You've certainly captured my level of trepidation in going forward with this.
