I believe they started on the Indy (Later called the CERVIII) in 1986.
I personally think the Indy/CERVIII was a better looking car than this Bertone concept. I've read that one of the Indy/CERVIII prototypes was fully functional, which is rare for most concept cars; however the project was only for R&D because a full productuon road going version would have been too expensive to produce for GM at the time. |

This is the first I've seen this and I've been following anything ZR-1 since the mid/late 80s. That car definitely looks European and it's not an attractive one at that.
