I just pulled my oem fuel sending unit to finally replace it with the single fuel pump kit.
However I realized the neither my gas tank nor any piece of the unit shows ANY visible sign of corrosion. Fuel hoses, Clamps and the Y connector look equally great. I have no fuel pump issues and also the fuel gauge works as it should. So... Would you anyway swap out the OEM unit as a precautive measure or keep it? I don't want it to fail when I need it the most - every time I ride my Z [emoji6]. But also I don't want to put it in my shelf of OEM pieces and just to let it rot down there. Only if I could safely keep it in a working condition not being drenched in fuel storing the oem unit might be an option... Hi Matt, I love the single fuel pump set up, a real work of art and enjoyed seeing yours at Bowling Green but have held off getting it for only one reason. I have the fuel pump jumper cable so if one of my fuel pumps goes out, easy plug in fix to be able to get home on a single pump. With the new single pump system, there is no back up if the pump fails. I know the chances are slim but...........
If you stay with the OEM just suggest you replace the plastic hose clamps with stainless steel or just add the stainless steel to the plastic. The only issue I have had with my OEM system was failure of the plastic clamp and the hose being disconnected.

Thanks both! So I'll put back my oem unit tonight and add some stainless steel reinforcements.
Charly, having a built in fallback solution clearly is a benefit. Safety by redundancy. Only that I don't have the jumper wire... I need to get one during the next gathering I guess!
