Don't waste a ginormous amount of money on a new headliner. Replace it yourself. There are innumerous videos on youtube on how to do this, quite simple actually. I removed my old headliner and replaced it without even taking the roof off and it looks original. I think I even bought the fabric from Walmart (or maybe Joanne's Fabric) along with a spray can of fabric adhesive to attach it to the felt headliner backing and the total cost of replacement was maybe $30.

I was into this matter also but still haven't found a material that EXACTLY matches the original fabric so it might pass NCRS. Recommendations welcome...

i replaced the headliner on one of my Zs--I can't remember which--and it was easy to do. Just remember to use high temperature headliner adhesive when you do it or after a hot day it may be sagging. And you might take a sample of your headliner material to one of the large fabric stores and see if they can match it fairly closely. That's what I did. --Bob

Cardboard, "felt" from a yarn store (take a sample of your current liner with you) , gorilla glue (standard or they have a non-expansion option now- I had no problem with the standard Gorilla glue and a LIGHT mist coat of water ). Cut cardboard to fit your targa - get card board that is big enough to cut a section that has NO flap or lid, straight piece of cardboard. Cut felt to size including enough to overlap onto the top of the cardboard. pour out some Gorilla glue, take a small paint roller, run roller over glue (a little goes a long way) put one light coat over the cardboard ,then take a spray bottle with water and put a LIGHT mist coat of water on the cardboard, then immediately lay the felt on the cardboard.Use small thumbtacks to hold the felt on- tacks on roof side not the inside - the part that you see. Have a helper to LIGHTLY stretch felt down on the card board without any wrinkles. turn felt side down and put some light weight on it, whatever you have, all across the backside of the cardboard. Let dry over night. remove old liner, clean surface and install your new liner with a heavier c oat of gorilla glue, don't glue too close to edge of liner, mist water on the targa panel itself and a light mist coat on the back headliner side. Let sit overnight (if you have light weight to put on it that's great. Sandbags work great. My way have passed NCRS and Bloomington Gold. The key is LIGHT glue, light pressure.

I bought a kit from Corvette Central and it was pretty squared away. I prepped my top by cleaning and a light sanding to remove residual glue, the applied the double sided tape and then "press fitted" the headliner into place.

Not a big deal.
