Headlights and Reverse Lights
Just got my 95 ZR-1 today and found it has one headlight out and neither reverse lights are working.
Any recommendations on brand or type of bulb? It's a driver...is it worth it go to LED? Thanks. |

Re: Headlights and Reverse Lights
If your both of reverse lights are not working and the bulbs are not burnt out, you could have a switch problem that is common. There was a tool that was being passed around to make the job easier as it?s location is very tight on the left side of the transmission. If you Google or search here you?ll find solutions how people replaced it with the trans in the car. If I remember correctly when in reverse rear side markers also illuminate. If all of those do not work you can assume it?s your switch.
We used to replace the reverse light bulbs with Halogen, but the draw is too much so now LED is great. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ht-switch.html https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-location.html Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

As for the headlights, I decided a nice set of Sylvania Halogens bulbs will work. LEDs are more expensive and honestly, kinda blew the budget getting the car. Haha. Maybe LEDs in the future. |

You?re welcome Richie. I think I know someone that will let you borrow the tool when you are ready. You will eventually want to have those lights. In Hawaii and other places we need them to pass safety check. It is not as difficult as it sounds, especially with the special tool that some have. I think you will like the halogen bulbs for now as anything is better than stock. The LEDs are really nice and bright and I like as much light as I can get on the road legally. I guess with age and night driving and speed. [emoji38] Let the fun begin!! 🤙🏼 Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Headlights and Reverse Lights
You need an oxygen sensor removal tool. Swapping that switch isn't too hard to do. Worst thing is to get under the car

I hear you. Enjoy it and prioritize what needs to be fixed and what you want to fix. I still have projects new in the box from 6 years ago. [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry
