Default Finally got the grandkids out for short rides--get them involved early!

I know, I know, this is a ZR-1 forum. But I posted this recently on the Stingray and Corvette Forums and I thought it still has relevance here, despite the Z06. So here you go:

Finally got the two grandsons out for a ride--they had been looking forward to it for a while. Ages 3 and 6. Got my 5 year old granddaughter out last summer. We have to get them interested early if we are too keep the passion going But no drag racing, on moms' orders!--Bob

1. Ready to go! 2.&3. Still have to go one at a time. 4. Granddaughter last summer.

Good for U, Bob!

EMERGENCY ALERT!!! My grandson is becoming a (cough, cough) Muh...Muh...Mustang fan!

He lives in Orlando, so I'm limited to sending him a video now and then where Ami holds the camera while we do Corvette video things! But, if someone is in the Orlando area, mebby you could stop by and show him what a Corvette is all about!

Paul,
Drove my 19 year old son to Hanover, Pa. to pick up a new 20 Mustang GT in Kona Blue with of course a 6 speed manual.

When I asked what was wrong with his BMW, he simply said it was missing one thing........................ a clutch.
Guess I taught him right.

The boy has 465 horsepower, STOCK!!

One month later he has me under it on the lift adding a new Roush exhaust!
He wanted the install to be a father and son project for his birthday present.
He remembered being 9 years old and staying up past midnight helping me get the stock exhaust back on Ruby as I realized I needed more points to get a Top Flight the next day at NCRS.

Can't complain though, Junior in collage, plays football, going for Mechanical Engineering and is working 40 hours a week at amazon during the summer to feed his car habit.

I did the same for my car habit, many years ago.

Ahhh I can only envy you Marty to have a son following in your car footsteps. My daughter, who drove my Quasar Blue '93 ZR-1 at Road America once for a few laps, now lives in downtown Chicago and they don't even own a car. And she seems to be trying to get my granddaughter to dislike cars in general. My son, who also drove the Quasar '93 and like yours helped putting on several exhaust systems on various cars, seems a bit mechanically challenged. On the plus side he does like cars but has a wife who doesn't and would likely not let him spend money on one. Oh well, hopefully our enthusiasm for cars and things mechanical will skip a generation! --Bob

My daily driver is a 2019 Bullitt. 480 hp, and manual only. My first Mustang since the early 90s. Man, have they come a long way. The addition of an independent rear suspension In 2015 made a huge leap, and now they added Magnaride too. Drove mine 30,000 miles in 9 months. Hell of a car.

I would drive a newer mustang.. If the choice was given on a new Mustang or Camaro, I would take the Mustang

Have driven my sons 2020 Mustang GT.
Have also driven the C-8.
C-8 is the clear winner.
But that darn pony car might be second, but not by tons.
Perhaps the 6 speed manual adds to the fun.
Truly a "best-buy", especially at 43k with performance options.

(Can't believe I just wrote that, but it is based on how good that car felt, i.e. it wants to play!)
