Replacement for stock wiper blades
I have the original wipers on my car but the rubber blade is coming off. Anyone do a blade cartridge replacement? Can’t find a replacement wiper.

There is an article in the NCRS Restorer Magazine from a few years ago that shows how replace just the rubber.

Go to Rock Auto and have a look. My memory may not be perfect but I believe you need to look for narrow inserts ... if they are even available. FWIW, the wipers on the later years had fewer problems - I think the factory redesigned the arms. I scored a pair of '95 arms from a Corvette parts place in Atlanta about 15 years ago - doubt any OEM arms are still around but they did make a HUGE difference in wiping efficiency without hitting the hood and other issues. |

Re: Replacement for stock wiper blades
Trico 202 (204 for later years)
Blades not inserts Rock Auto $1.21 each! I bought 6 sets! Now have a lifetime supply, they also make a nice X-mas gift! They fit great and are low profile to not hit the hood. They‘re probably old stock so a wipedown with silicon wouldn‘t hurt. Some blades had Trico branding others NAPA but they‘re all the same. Last edited by Mystic ZR-1; 08-13-2019 at 11:22 AM. |

Re: Replacement for stock wiper blades
I guess that the question that I have is this: Did the wipers change its physical appearance? My 92 had the arrows on the both ends. According to the judging book, that’s what my 93 should have. Is it different than the other years of ZR-1’s? Here’s a pic of the wiper arm.

Re: Replacement for stock wiper blades
My 90 has the same arrowhead design. I just picked up some rubber blades of the right size and stripped them off. Inserted into the existing wiper arms. I also picked the passenger side a bit shorter than the driver’s side. The originals had an occasional collision while wiping.

I did find a reference to said article written by Larry Richter but could not find it in the content section.

Re: Replacement for stock wiper blades
Trust me, it’s not hard to do it yourself. Be careful of the aluminum blade holders that snap into the wiper arm. Very sharp.

Re: Replacement for stock wiper blades
I replaced the blades before on my 89 Vette. With luck, it won’t be too hard.
