Did anyone come up with a definitive answer about which power key would have been originally delivered with a "90? (My Ser# 0442)
I now have 2 of each. Red background bowtie w/black outline and bowtie w/yellow background. All 4 are "D" code and work in my car. I remember we discussed this a while back, but don't think it ever got settled. I don't need 4 power keys, so thinking I will keep the 2 that would have been delivered with my car and share the other 2 if anyone needs 1 (or 2). ![]()

I asked several folks at the 2019 Nationals and there is no definitive answer. We need Original early and later 1990 ZR-1 owners to chime in. Anyone that has their car second hand is out for a definite answer. I have VIN 277 and I think I know which ones were delivered with the car but can't be certain.
I two have two sets of each so good either way but would love to know for certain. Thanks Joel |

My 90’ #1461 came from the original owner, I got two of these. Note that the emblem is a gold bow tie in a red field as a 90’ should be.

I checked the power key in the car and it has the gold background on the bow tie. The second one has a black background for the bow tie. The codes on the back are the same as yours on both keys. Is your backup key black for the bow tie? Lou Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry |

Looks like we are still on "undecided" here.
Have communicated with a member who just went through judging and he indicates the judges did not have an answer either. He (member) brought up the question of what did the '89's have? Don't know if it would settle the question, but would be interesting to know. ![]()

I am the original owner of #1389. The original keys are as per Ccmano's #4 post.

Although I fully understand the need to get it right, having Top Flighted multiple cars multiple times, this one is kind of cute.
First thought were the words "trivial pursuit". This tops the dreaded valve stem cap and tire finish dilemma. No disrespect, just such minutia that the manuals do not even cover it. As long as you have a working key, chances are few will make any kind of deduction. Then again, who knows. ENJOY your car and the pursuit of perfection AND turning that key, regardless of bow color, and standing on it to 7k!!! Marty |
