Thknkoabout selling my Z,is it a stretch to think I can get $30,000?
Car is very nice, interior is near perfect paint is a solid 9. The only thing that does work is the CD player. The car is about as perfect as a car can be considering it’s got 25,000 miles. Car is never parked outside in the sun and never parked outside over night. Car currently has HRE wheels but I have a set of OEM wheels I bought new with Goodyear, these sold at extra cost. Can somebody post some pictures for me,I posted this same question over on the other forum.

Here's your pics.
Jeff1.jpg Jeff2.jpg Jeff3.jpg Jeff4.jpg Jeff5.jpeg Are you SURE you want to sell it? My thought is that 30K is not out of line as nice as it is and as long as EVERYTHING works. Again, are you REALLY SURE you want to sell it?

Maybe, just maybe is it was 100% stock which yours is not..
Aftermarket wheels and horns are 2 things you changed. plus it is not at stock ride height. I think if it was 100% back to stock and you fixed the CD player, you might have a chance. If it was a triple crown winner and BG Certified, that would help too

Re: Thknkoabout selling my Z,is it a stretch to think I can get $30,000?
A '90 Red ZR-1 with only 357 miles on it went through the Mecum Chicago auction last friday. It got bid to $27,000 but the seller passed. I believe the same car went through last year with 325 miles and sold for $30k plus fees. Looks like the owner tried a flip that did not work (if this is the same car). The market has spoken on an excellent condition clearly all stock '90 with extremely low miles. Is your car a match for this one? Personally I prefer cars that are driven, so I would favor yours at the right price, but the median price listed in the Sports Car Market Price Guide is $21,000 for 90's. It all depends on finding the right buyer who is willing to pay what you want for the quality of the car and your ownership inputs. Good luck with selling it. --Bob

Seeing as you’re looking for another Corvette, consider putting it out there that you are looking to trade for a 61/62. There are tax advantages to that, and also the factor that early Vettes have great curb appeal, but I can imagine some owner might be anxious to trade for a more liveable driver, especially a great looking ZR-1 like yours. Just a thought.
About ten years ago I had a chance to trade my 91’ Z for a gorgeous split window coupe with an LT5 Under the hood, even trade. I’ve been kicking myself ever since, even though overall the ZR-1 is twice the car. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

I’d be sorry to see you go, especially before we have a chance to meet. If I get elected to the board I plan to push for a west coast event in conjunction with Hot August Nights. We’d miss you. Frankly, in this market and this time of year $30k will be a stretch, even for an excellent car like yours. What year is it?

Re: Thknkoabout selling my Z,is it a stretch to think I can get $30,000?
The market is what it is for our cars now.....I disagree that they will stay at the low prices they are now. 40 year old Trans Ams are selling for STUPID numbers now, and how many of those did Pontiac produce? We all know it wasn't 6900 units over 6 years. And those crazy numbers are for any 77-81 Trans Am. Not for a 4-speed, WS6, hardtop, 200 mile trailer queen that should bring those numbers. Sorry but our cars are way more special / unique......
I like most of you, watch Mecum and Barrett Jackson auctions on TV. And the last Z I watched go across the auction block, was a low mileage 90 that didn't sell. But the guys talking about it, said the market IS going up on our cars. And not just low mileage examples. If I was in your situation, patience is a virtue. Find what you want, and trade both cars in. If that isn't an option, put that Beast up for sale at your $30,000 PRICE. Just put an OBO behind it. |
