Default 90 ZR1 Wont start

Hi
I just sold my 1990 ZR1. Car had just over 5000 miles. I never had a problem with it. New owner drove it home then called me saying the car will not start. Everything comes on when turning the key but will not crank. Security light comes on and goes out. I only have one key so He cant try another. Im thinking it has something to do with the theft system. Any one ever had this issue?
Thanks,Steve

Try jump starting it, simplest issue would be a low battery or ask him to push start it, turn key to on, call a couple of friends push it and pop the clutch in 2nd. If it starts the problem most likely is in the starting circuit or starter. After that follow FSM procedure for no start.

When I had my first zr-1 delivered, I drove to the gas station to fill up the tank.

When I got back in the car would not start.

Turned out the floor mat rolled up under the clutch pedal and it was not going all the way to the floor.

Good luck.

See the thread "Starting Issues" also posted today in the General Postings

Does the starter Solenoid move (is there a click and reduction in voltage by diming lights for example)?

If so.....that no start issue will be intermittent until you recondition the Starter Solenoid points. In Emergencies the Z is very easy to push start by hand in second gear pop clutch with key on (as 32valvesftw suggested above).
