Question re: ‘95 Engine Emblem
I was cleaning on my engine tonight and noticed the Corvette emblem on the valve covers having a purple hue to it. What’s the story on that? It’s definitely not the typical red/black emblem combo. Does the heat change the hue or was it delivered this way? Seems like there must be a story there. Thanks, guys!

The emblems get like that from age and varying conditions, but did not come like that. I have to say that that motor does not look like a 36K motor, but it depends on previous owner car, what part of the country and other storage conditions, etc.

Original finish doesn't seem to age well, and pain to clean, sometimes makes it worse.
Refinished engines look way better and easy to clean. Thanks, HAWAIIZR-1. Figured it must be color changed over time. Yeah, I'm with you on the engine look. It's rough for it's mileage. I can speak to the last 15 years of it being garage kept 100% of the time here in Texas and never exposed to rain, ice, etc. I can't speak to the original owner's care in Colorado. I suppose some of that could be salt related. Nevertheless, as George suggests, refinishing may be in my future. I see Marc does a terrific looking job with that.

PurplePower degreaser & Distilled water mixed 4:1 spray bottle. Wheel detail brush agitate. Hose off, blow dry.
Hyper Dressing & Distilled water 4:1 spray, the use a painters brush to blend instead of wiping off. *Must take extreme care to protect vulnerable components.
