If correct that should ensure the C-7 ZR-1 new car sales performance will enter a death spiral similar to the C-4 ZR-1.
Guess they never heard about history repeating itself at Chevrolet. ![]() Marty |

Marty,
I think they’re betting on the traditional Vette buyer wanting a powerful front engine supercar. Wonder how many of that same population willl be able to enter and exit the mid engine? They bitched about the ingress/egress on the C4s. Probably one reason they don’t care for the C4 ZR. |

Why a mid engine? Don't the current cars have a near perfect 50/50 split? Isin't the the whole reason for mid-engine.

The majority of the mass is closer to the center of the vehicle in a mid engine. That gives the car intrinsically a more neutral handling characteristic. The motor is directly behind the driver, not hanging out just behind the front wheels like a pendulum.

It is further rumored that GM will continue to offer a front engine version, but the beast of the group will be the mid-engine halo car.

It will likely be like the 90's once again.
They will sell 1,000 of the halo cars, and 10,000 of it's emblems, which will find their way onto the base cars. ![]() Marty |

Here is another update that proposes the C7 will be sold alongside the C8. The strategy there is that GM can gauge the sales preferences and hedge their bets of the future Corvette buyers.

“Let’s see what happens” basis. They’re taking advantage of the diehards who can’t envision a Corvette without round taillamps, flip up headlamps, a DOHC motor, and an IC engine sitting in front of them. Besides, Porsche has demonstrated the viability of multiple platforms and extension into sedans and SUVs. |
