Default battery

I haven't bought one in a long time for my ZR-1. What brand and size battery are you buying these days? My last one was an AC Delco and it lasted a very long time. Just wondering if their is anything better, and less expensive out there. Thanks

I'm 100% sold on Odyssey brand batteries and have been installing in all my cars and motorcycle. Specifically 75-PC1230 for the ZR-1. I paid $230 over a year ago and now they cost more, but worth every penny to me. Do a search on here for Odyssey and you will see why.

Batterymart is awesome to deal with:

Because our cars seem to not be daily drivers, I like the AGM batteries over conventional lead acid batteries. It is a perfect fit and no issues at all. Best wishes in your quest for a replacement battery that meets your needs.

Initially developed for military use, the advantage of the Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM, lead-acid) batteries is, in a word, rugged.

Some people wear a ROLEX watch - which some might say are more precise than a 'Citizens" (or the like). The question is does the cost justify the ability to keep time to within one second for (let's say) two months vs. one month?

Well, I own a ZR-1, so it's hard for me to argue against wanting the "best of the best"! But, since the "75" series size (premium grade) lead-acid batteries give me 7-10 years (and counting!) of life in a Corvette, I'll have to put AGM (and that ROLEX) on hold a while longer...

I’ve had 2 AC Delco batteries where one of the lugs pulled out and the acid made a real nasty mess,no more AC Delcos for me. I’ve floor a Diehard but will try the Odyssey battery next time around.

Sam's club now sells Duracell and they make an ACM.
I just purchased a size 31 (HUGE!) for my back up sump pump, it cost around $180.
The standard smaller auto versions (like in a Corvette) cost around $120-130.
That's a pretty good value.

I just get one from NAPA - model 8475 for $126.99. Tired of spending the big bucks for DELCO, doesn't last any longer than the NAPA.
