Default 1990 Seats

I'm thinking about changing the seats in my 90. In lieu of buying used 94-96 seats used, does anyone have any suggestions for replacement. Don't need competition seats, just something nice and comfortable. Ease of installation would definitely be a plus. I'm a bigger guy so 90 side bolsters are very uncomfortable.

Is this for looks or comfort? I added some extra foam to my seat and it really helped the comfort factor. It's likely the stock foam should be replaced, but this is working for now.

Seats themselves r fine. Thigh bolsters in a 90 sit high. So bigger guys like me don't fit well between them.

I may sell my seats out of my 94 they are black. I have since purchased red 91 seats to go in my zr1 (may redo them black) because im fairly slim and prefer the tight fit. I just havent picked them up yet

I feel your pain...well I used to, anyway.

I remember the cross-country trips I took in my 95 LT1 car - how comfortable they were - the tank would need filling before my butt/legs needed to stretch! 2 hours in those 90 sport seats and the bolsters would have my legs going to sleep, not to mention the pain.

Jason at Vette2Vette supplied me with a set of base 95 seats. They are the 'bomb', as my daughter would say!

-=Jeff=- may chime in here. He too is a big boy, and he did extensive mods to "re-create" his seats to his liking (a cross between sport seats and standard seats - there is an old post of his w/ photos and detailed discussion).

Now, we've done the same thing for Aimi's 91 ZR-1: the standard seats are very comfy! (One or the other will be a the MR5 and BG, come May. You're welcome to come and sit in them. And, too, the 94-5 sport seats don't give up anything either. Just a thought.

I have black interior. If you decide to sell, let me know. Do you know if they bolt right in?

Thanks for the input. Interesting what you did. Do you happen to know what thread or can you post some pix of Aimi's? I would probably want to keep stock seats as they are for originality sake, if I ever sell.

Yes the 94-96 seats bolt in. Sport seats take a bit more work to get them to function. Like Paul said I prefer the 94-96 base style seats but wanted the taller sport bolsters and lumbar. So I took sport seat frame and foam and then base seat foam and made my current seats
