Default 1990 Production Question

So my 1990 is # 1051, just over the 1/3 qty built for 1990

I assume changeover was June.. what I am trying to figure out is when exactly my car was built?

Build sheet say 90/016 which has me assume Jan 16th (16 days into the year)

cause I doubt it was built the 16th week

Thoughts?

My cars have the date on the door sticker. The actual build date is on the build sheet and may differ by a few weeks of the door date.

The date on the door of my 93 is 01-93.. The date on the build sheet is 12-17-92

Door was replaced prior to my ownership so I am out of luck on that one

I believe 016 is the Julian date that the "paper" was initiated for the build. Paper is several days prior to build. I've seen some mention as much as 2 weeks. It's sometimes interesting to compare door "Certification" to build sheets to determine actual approximate assembly. If a person had a build sheet with a Julian that made it mid-month but a "Certification" of the next month you could approximate paper to build.

16 Jan 1990 was a Tuesday so .......

Have you ever stumbled upon a tire crayon date anywhere on the car?

****Steve your build/Certification seems to validate that. I completely missed your post and just tried to interpret =-Jeff=-

Thanks.. so If Jan seems legit that is good enough for me.. just figured the car would have been built in Nov-Dec unless the ZR-1 cars were slower to get going down the line

Certification Label on #653 is 12/89 - I don't have the 'build sheet'. You might reach out to a couple members with VIN#'s closer and similar to yours.

#1032 is on eBay NOW!! No "Certification Label' snapshot - you might ask for one!
