Coolant to Plenum Delete

Can anyone direct me to advice on how to do the coolant to plenum delete mod?

The diagrams in the factory service manual and the ones posted here don't show enough to see EXACTLY how to redirect.

I think that is a very cool mod and being from Texas, I'm sure I don't "need" it. It sucks to have to deal with coolant when pulling the plenum.

if you're talking about the TB bypass, all you need is around 4 feet of hose and I think 5/16ths rubber nipples, hose clamps, and zip ties.

I'm talking about bypassing the entire plenum. Not just the throttle body.

The best way to do it is the way the first post said . i would be afraid of steam pockets unless you pull the inj housings and the benifit just isnt there. you would do better getting one of the 170 thermastates . jmho

I have the plenum plates, but I dont see why you cant tap and plug the passage holes.

the problem is without flow ,air will get trapped. think about it air goes to the top, but with no flow it gets trapped and once the engine gets warm you get steam pocket which can create more heat than the coolant. I you listen to what those that have a lot more knowledge on these motors than you are trying to tell you . ITS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. since you are in texas call Corey henderson in New Braunfells (210 8676286 he is one of the 5 most knowledgeable people in the country on these motors . Maybe you will believe him when he tells you that if you want to bypass the throttle body it gives you absoultly no power gain at all. Moving the MAT sensor to the air dam will do more good and is easier.. the temp inside the engine compartment will conteract your attempt at heat reduction. I know what your thinking but I tried it and saw no gain. In the end its your car do what you want . and find out for yourself. jmho

Jon, he wants to bypass it so he doesn't have to worry about draining or spilling coolant when pulling the plenum. If it's routed correctly there is no issue.

Jeff, thanx help me to understand the coolant flow. I wound just be worried about steampockets. would it be better to block the coolant flow at the bottem of the injector housings so that coolant constantly circulated . but i don't have a cooling system diagram. i couldn't find one in the shop manual. I am not trying to discurage him just didn't want to see him have problems with coolant flow/steampockets / like We had on a 351 stroker when we blocked off flow to the intake and a steam pocket cracked the manifold .so thats where i was kinda comming from . that steampocket cost me a 1500 ported intake . which really got me hot

jeff' i didn't want to discourage him. i just was worried about steam pockets forming . But i can't find a coollant flow chart in the shop manual. wouldnt it be better to block off at the bottem of the inj housings. So that coolant had a constant flow. I had a 351 stroker that got a steam pocket whenwe tried blocking off the coolant to the intake . it cracked a 2k head and a1500 ported intake which really got me hot .

I have bleed screws in the coolant pipes. It makes bleeding easy, but they arent necessary. Ive done it both ways.
Steam pockets damaging an intake doesnt compute.
