Default ZR1 find

Hello everyone, new to the forums here. My name is Tom and I'm in Buffalo,NY. I ran across the site doing a google search for information on C4 ZR1's. A extremely good friend of mine stumbled on this car and asked me for help on getting some information on it. This is kind of a odd story on the car but then again I think a good percentage of car finds probably have a slightly odd story to go along with them .

My friend is a auto mechanic here in Buffalo and ended up getting a call from his uncle about a corvette that someone was looking to sell. The lady had fallen on hard times and was needing to get some cash quick. At the time he didn't know it was a ZR1 until he saw it.

Here is what I know about the car so far, It's a 1995, the color is purple, 20,000 miles and from a quick inspection everything seems to be original on the car besides the battery that needed replacing. He said that it was in good condition but until the car can be inspected further on a lift that's all I can really provide.

Unfortunately I don't have any more information on it yet since I do snow plowing and we just got hit with a small storm and his family has been sick with the flu(he has a 3 month old and a 2 year old). Probably on Monday we are going to use my truck to transport the car to his shop to put it on a lift and get a closer inspection as well as detailed pictures.

When he bought it he was going to keep it until his wife changed his mind . What are some of the trouble areas to look for and when I take photos of the car are there specific things people like to see in them? I know the information is pretty limited at this point but I don't want to specifically say anything about condition of the car without personally looking. Would a realistic ball park selling price be around $20-30k? Also, as soon as the car is inspected more closely and pictures taken I'm going to list the car on this site for him. Thanks everyone to taking the time to read this, have a great day.

Depends on condition of the car if its mint I would say 25 to 30 would be a quick sale.

Sounds like a great car. Only 25 Dark Purple made in 1995, the last year of ZR-1 production. What are the last three digits of the VIN? When I bought my 95 in 2012 it was completely stock with 20,000 miles on it. With shipping I paid about $30k and had to put a few thousand dollars into it in servicing (all fluids replaced, etc.) and parts that wear or deteriorate like window gaskets, serpentine belt etc. Keep us posted on where you end up. --Bob

Hmmmm........eerily similar circumstances......this purple car was advertised on this site, bought, and then was up for sale a week later. I'm pretty sure it went for at least $40k

Sorry I haven't responded in a few days but I've been kind of busy over the weekend, went to the Bills-Packers game on Sunday and had a few to many drinks when celebrating

I will find out the vin and I was reading about the two different heads so I'm going to make sure we check which ones are on the car. I only have a open trailer and we don't want to use that for the car with the salt on the roads here in Buffalo and are trying to secure enclosed one to move the car.
