Default Clutch Safety Switch

Mine is starting to have issues, I have done a few searches with no luck even my Napa guy can't find one. Anyone have a lead on who may have one?

Thanks

do you have to replace it or do you want to jump it out?

Kevin, I can jump it for now but would prefer to replace it if possible. This was the first time I could not get to work at all lucky I was a home and the drive had a slope so i rolled to a start and put it away.

Keen Corvette Parts was having these produced, this was a year ago so they might have them done by nowIf its your 91 thats acting up there are a few remedies for the clutch switch you might want to look into.I ran a second ground from the starter relay and also replaced the starter relay. Its been suggested that running a second higher amp starter relay is also a fix.

Thanks Jeff, sounds interesting do you have a link to the mod? and relay part #. I checked Keen not listed.
As a side note Marc just redid the starter/solenoid wires when the car was up last winter for upgrades.

This one looks real close. Wonder if it can be made to work.

I saw that also, I'm going to do the relay trick also I found the links. One question does the safety switch work after this mod? 99% of the time I am the only driver but my wife has had to move cars around when I'm not home and I can hear it now (I forgot to push the clutch in)..... 10 for 10 today working fine right now hopefully the relay will be the fix.

Steve,

I had this issue when I first got the car. I jumpered the switch having had the "pleasure" of replacing this switch once before. I was younger then and pretty sure my joints would snap if I tried that again. Absolutely need to remove seat.
Frankly, in 3 years I have not had any issue altho I am in total agreement on the safety issue. Nobody drives my car other than me and sometimes my son. However, I am always in the car. My routine, regardless, has ALWAYS a been to put the Trans in NEUTRAL, depress clutch, THEN turn key. I've thought of a little plaque somewhere on the steering wheel warning of clutch switch INOP. Maybe even a little "pre-flight" checklist.
I will say it's convenient to be able to start motor without sitting down in seat when doing any work or diagnostics.
