Default '63 Split Window LT5 at Dallas Mecum

I think this goes off on Saturday. He's wanting $190k for it. It's pumped up to 440 HP and it is beautiful in person:

That's Bill's car from Scottsdale, yes very nice in person, Tried to sell it at Monterey Russo Steele, went to 100k aprox, no sale, I thought reserve at 125 to 150 aprox, Marc did the motor & Bill B did the trans, SAT Lot #, GLWS Bill L

beautiful car. 190k is a bunch of money. could have bought a callaway speedster twin turbo lt5 for that.

Was the 440hp achieved with or without that air intake?

Yeah, that was my question too, with all those bends that intake looks a bit restrictive.

Not only that with side pipes by the time the headers go into the collector its about 9-12 inches past the front of the pipes. He had to double back and bring the exhaust forward to make it go into the pipes. Super nice work but major back pressure point. If I go again I'll take a pic.

Correct, it does double back,(I think there are no mufflers) the car may not be efficient in some ways, but still VERY NICE, if 190 is the reserve, I doubt it will reach that, but get 2 bidders in the same room in a pissing match and watch out

Remember the days when it was "cool" to start cutting and install a single back glass?
There are many stories such as this.


Nice car, just doesnt do it for me. Except for the engine. But I appreciate the work that went into it. Even more if the owner did his own work. But whoever did it, did their job well.
