Default Tuning with Tunerpro

Im a complete noob when it comes to tuning but I would like to learn. Can anyone recommend any sites to learn the basics and get me started? I downloaded tunerpro and the 93-95 definition file. Where can I get a bin file so that I can start exploring the program?

Thanks!

Thanks, Ive been reading for a few hours. Good stuff.
Any recommendations for hardware and software? Ive been looking at tunerpro, moates and innovate for the wideband oxygen sensor.

Any idea where I can get a stock 94 bin?

Definitely go to 3rd Gen and read the stickies. Take a look at a presentation I did for the Gathering this May also.

My recommendations would be for the software/hardware in the presentation.
=Jeff= has created an adx file for Android tablets u can use to datalog.
You need a

1. chip burner/reader
2. Scan tool/datalogger
3. Bin editor w correct Def Files.
4. Lots of time and gas
5. For WOT, YOU'll need a Wide Band O2 (Innovate, Zeitronix ZT-2, DYNAMIC EFI TT-1 WB)

Here is what I am using:
  1. Moates Burn1
  2. Tunerpro RT
  3. ALDLDroid
  4. VETuner

Burn1 to burn my PROMs
Tunerpro RT for making changes
ALDLDroid (or Tunerpro) for Datalogging they both use the SAME ADX file
VETuner for auto adjusting the VE tables based on the BIN file and the datalog

I see you mention the Moates Apu1 and the Ostrich 2.0 Doesn't the APU1 also do emulation or does the ostrich 2.0 do a better job.

Would this be good?
Moates APU1
Moates G1 chip adapter
TunerPro
Innovate LC-2 wideband controller
Anything else?

Any preference over ALDLDroid or Tunerpro Jeff? Tunerpro will datalog and edit in one package. Does this keep things simpler?

Those are fine. The APU1 is an All Purpose Unit. So it reads and writes chips, also does emulation. Ostrich is just an emulator which was fine for me since I already had chip read/burn equipment.
