Default Pretty cool find

When I bought mine I also got a set of the FSM's from the owner. Was flipping through them this afternoon to do some reading since my cruise control doesn't work and the power seats aren't acting right. I ran across this old email that was printed out and folded inside it.

I have a 95 FSM book set that was printed in Dec of 1994 and has the correct torque value of 70 lb/ft shown. The front abutment bracket has a much much higher toque- like 160 lb/ft or something.

My FSM on page 5B2-6 says 166 +/- 15 lb.ft. This is the rear brake section but matches word for word the front brake caliper mounting bolt wording. Mine is also printed Dec 1994.

Oh! pg 5B2-10 has the correct specs.

The clue being that it says (verbatim from the front brake procedure) to tighten the 'two front caliper mounting bolts'. Brakes are so straight forward, I never would have read that anyhow- just go to the last page for the torques and that's that.

Well I'll be doing this very shortly w C6Z06 rear calipers. Need to check if the torque spec is the same. My 1/2" torque wrench only goes to 150lbs.
