Default Shock rebuild questions

I have some extra shocks (front and rear) I want to have rebuilt and revalved. Is it possible to powdercoat them before I send them to Bilstein and where can I get new rubber or poly bushings for them?

Sure but what if the shocks you send to them are not in a rebuildable by Bilstein condition? I think that is unlikely but it's a possibility. Also during tear down its possible the coating also could become damaged during the process. Just some thoughts

DRM used to carry the bushings if not I'm sure Bilstein does. GC

I thought about that too, but Bilstein doesn't paint them, they just apply new stickers-looks pretty silly on old dirty shocks.

Something to think about. During the powder coat process the shocks will see 400 degrees F in the oven to cure the resin. To be safe I would fully disassemble first.

Wow, in that case maybe painting would be better!

I agree and your not saving that much on the rebuild. I only like the rebuild idea if your going with a moracca or senza valving to help in auto crossing.

Is the Moracca valving only good for autocrossing? I want a stiffer valving to go with my coilovers.
