GC yes this was your old one; What yrs does it fit?
Variety of tools used on the inside, outside large fine scotchbrite type wheel/buffs & diffferent compounds on the out;smaller hand tools for the tight spots.
Lotsa time like Lee said I know he knows;most guys wont touch these for a reason.
Hardest part is knowing when to stop lol. Fun stuff

Buffers are dangerous stuff. Grabbed an alt bracket from me yesterday and heard it ricocheting around the garage couldnt see it. Thank god it missed

I'm in the process of polishing mine. I've run into a bunch of sand pits from the casting on the outside, there on the inside also, but I'm not as concerned with those. Did yours have these pits and will they eventually sand out? I've sanded the outside a good bit but there are still some fine pits.

From doing other pieces probably varies
I got 0 pitting underneath some on the sides there is some up top.,
First few pits seem to buff out but if you go after all of them seems to uncover more. At a point you stop, buff and walk away it seems.

Trick is to do minimal sanding to get your finish then hit it with the buff.

OK thanks that's kind of what I thought but now I can quit where I am and start buffing. This helps a bunch, thanks again.
