I've heard people using the viper rear gears and just want to do it right. I wanted to ask about rebuilding the diff etc and where to buy parts for that as well?
Looking to go 3.92 if offered if not 3.73 and wanted to start gathering the necessary parts. |

Here is one choice, I had Marc change mine to 3.73 while it is at his shop.

If you were interested in doing a complete build I have NOS/GM housing and then you could either shelve the 3.45 or sell it as an assembly. I've new short-axles also and a Dana brand new differential. I have a 3.73, 3.54 and a 4.10 gear set all new GM or Dana brand. I don't have a 3.9+ gear set. I believe you use a USA "drop to" address so the ship wouldn't be an issue. If you're buying maybe it would be wise to check local first. You can't ever tell what someone has on their shelf or in a warehouse that could be negotiated for a sale. If there's a Dana/Spicer drive-line dealer/jobber in the area I'd start there. Just make sure they understand Vette/Viper D44 sometimes referred to as D44-HD. There's a D44 also that is not the correct stuff. A 3.73 gear requires only the change of the driven gear for speedometer correction. An advantage? In you particular case I wouldn't think so. You do need to be sure you have the speedometer correction gears when you do the job. It's then a "once and done"! Marc is the "go to" for them regardless of where you buy the gear kit.
