I think the inst/rest light is the airbag and the connections are under the battery and just need scrubbed with a wire brush and you should be ok

Correction it was INFL/REST.
Is there something under each seat that tells the car there is weight in the seat in order to buckle up?

Nothing that triggers "occupancy"!

You have no "INF REST" in the DIC only the red in dash? DO you have both? If there's an issue with the SIR (INF REST) the SEAT BELT in the dash (red) will also light. If you've only the (red) in dash then it's a seat belt issue. If both DIC & dash it's SIR and most frequently is the grounds of both sensors to the frame rails. I'll not mention the cleaning that's covered many, many times.

You mention "get rid of" antenna. Do you just want to defeat the power mechanism to keep it down? If that's the case you can just put a demand switch in-line so if you're not an AM/FM listener there's no need for the mast to be up. -=Jeff=- and a couple others have done alternative antenna locations but with what results I'm not sure. I believe location would have a lot to do with "satisfaction".

Here is one:
http://www.zr1netregistry.com/Inform...-REST-fix.aspx

But also you might want to check the two plugs under the dash on both sides.
Look for a bright yellow wire then trace it to the plug. The pins have gold plating but
I have noticed that on a few occasions by unplugging and plugging them back in
the problem went away. I then coated them with dielectric grease and that did it.
So both the frame rail cleaning etc and these connectors should be considered.

Most of those grounds for the dash, etc are located on two lugs, either side of top center of the block directly above the clutch bell housing.

They are a bit awkward to get to, but if you pull the PVC and MAP sensor off (no biggie) then you can get reasonable access to those bolts and the grounds you're interested in, I believe.

Shine them with a wire brush or emery cloth, and coat them with dielectric grease before attaching them again.
