I did this project back in 2009. I used GM replacements and the fit was excellent. However, they must have been the oldest OEM A Pillar weatherstrips in the inventory circa 1984. This time I went with WILCOX. Avoid all GM weatherstrips that are not sealed. A lot of folks want to see pics again So.... Here they are. My new 2013 how to replace the A pillar moldings thread. I bought the Madvet weatherstripping 4 tool set which im my opnion made the job easier. See part 3 for a pic of these tools. The claw tool is excellent for removing the ws button clips in the lower door section and the upper corners. The scrapers and the pick tool were good for removing that pesky weatherstripping glue out of the channels. Lasty the tools are small and easily fit in your hand to get the job done. Now remove the blue 15AMP INST fuse from the passenger fuse panel (saves the battery) Remove the top then open the doors and get to work !

You need to remove the sunvisor plastic shield access covers. Only two screws.. this will allow you to tuck the new WS in. They remove at an angle and install at an angle

Heres a pic of the WS retaining clips, Two small clips fit in the lower door areas and the one larger/longer clips into the upper corners. Total of 6 for the entire project. The claw tool works great on these and doesnt damage them so you can reuse them. The two larger clips go in the top corners the other 4 in the lower corners next to the door hinge. I Tore the WS away so you could see the clips

Here are the top corners pins. These pins also push in an pull out. The claw foot make short of these. Now remove the other three pins on the other side of the car and prepare to PULL!!!

6--- two longer clips in the top corners 4--- in the lower corners.. 2 per side

Nice write up GC. I too, need to do this. How much did it cost for tools and material?

Tools are $25.00 from Madvett.com. I bought the 3M adhesive locally for about $10. I already had the A pillar weatherstripping molding from a year ago and I cant remember how much I paid for it

Looks like it's about $95 for the WS plus the tools on the Willcox website.

Good price, I dont know what Wilcox has for tools but they are prob simular to Madvetts.
