I am going to be getting the ZR-1 out for a few local cruises this summer ... and I am sure I will get someone trying to "ROLL RACE" me more than once.
Whats a good RPM and Gear to be in for a nice strong pull from beginning to end? I have never roll raced before, but want to make sure I "represent" when the opportunity comes up HAHA!! I have dyno'd my car ... is it mainly anywhere in these cars?! I have stock gearing. Thanks ![]() |

find a speed that puts you at 4000 in the gear you want, remember it.

NICE ... thanks Kevin!
I am guessing that puts me firmly into the "full power" mode ![]() |

secondaries, if you have them, open at 3000 rpm or WFO on the 90. I should mention this is when a stock car comes up on cam, i have no idea with a ported car

Don't forget to firmly place your head against your headrest 'cause that's where it's going to end up...

friend of mines MG sprung a coolant leak at cars and coffee so we jumped in the zr-1 to take him over to sears, got his stuff, hoped back in, we were doing about 25 in first and I gave it a 1/4 throttle whack. his response was "HOLY **** THAT THING TAKES OFF"...he aint seen nothing yet

i have had my fair share of roll races. 3000 is just perfect for a roll race , you wont spin the tires and thats her sweet spot . if you ever get into a highway punch off you can put her in third with stk gears.you wont have to shift till about 115mph . roll races are where our cars shine . my 2 ported cars plenum and inj housings run thru the lights at the drag strip between 118 -120 which is good enough to get seriously into the 11s if our cars hooked decent at all . have fun
