Anybody out there know what the fastners that the shift boot screws into on the underside of the shifter plate is called and where they are available and perhaps even a size? TIA GC

I see what you need BUT I've an appointment this afternoon. I'll try to sort it this evening. There's 4 and they attach to the exterior of the plastic studs and then 4 tor-x headed screws hold the boot to the plate.

Later today!

GC, I hope you don't mind me piggy-backing on this thread.

Has any one had the shroud that goes over the center hump
warp on the driver's side? If so what did you do about it?
I'm considering using a heat gun to warm it up then push it back in
or a more extreme fix by putting in a screw through to the hump.
It really annoys me.

FYI - later cars used philips head. These are philips (or torx) with washer head, black oxide finished short sheet metal screws.

These will need to be "canabalized" - on any C4 shift plate there will be 4 on M6 cars and there will be 6 on an A4 cars. This nut is also used in a similar location for the C5 - there would be 4 used for the console hinge and 2 used for the console latch. There's 6 used on the Syclone and Typhoon as they're the ONLY Bravada, Jimmy, Blazer, Sonoma "sized" vehicle that had a floor shift.

That's all of the applications I can find for them. There should be many, many available but they might come at a price. I know what I'd use if I needed them but I have none to try and don't have a console plate to measure the exterior diameter and the height of the plastic stud it slips over.

The screw for the C4 is 10180421 and is still available, the fastener is somewhat unique best I recall with a plastic washer. Aside of that it's just a typical 4.2x1.41x13 tor-x or phillips fastener.

How about a snapshot of this "situation" - I don't really follow unless maybe you're speaking of the lower console frame. Is it in this image?
