Texas Mile - Oct 2012
Well folks. As far as I saw, I was the lone C4 running at the Texas Mile this past weekend, so I tried to represent C4's and ZR-1's as best as I could. Weather was perfect for the Cars - Cool and a Tail Wind.
In March 2011, I went 176 and was happy (Warm and slight Head Wind). My target this year was to get in the 180's. Having done some tweaks to the car and the favorable conditions, if I missed 180 I was going to be pretty dissapointed. I had a roller coaster of emotions as things were questionable at different times during the weekend. On my second run on Sunday, I placed a Bible in the car and race gas in the tank. Can you say "God's Speed"? - I knew you could. Best Run (Last of the Day) 186.6 For comparison: The stock ZR1's were running in the 181/182/183 range. Pretty Good for natural air, 20+ yr old technology and under 400 cubes. The emotional roller coaster ended on a high! Robin 94 Dark Red - Almost Stock 94 Admiral Blue - Not Stock |

Congrats, Robin! That is great!
I'm surprised there were no other ZR-1's there, especially with all the Texas Z's. I've done the mile a few times here on the west coast: It's a BLAST and a RUSH! |

I think it's the LPE 385 that John L used in the first Vette Viper races. The story goes JL kick the S@%* out of John Hennessey Viper. Damn I should have bought that Vette.... |
