Ok lets face it the ZR-1 does not need more power so much as more grip.......excluding drag radials....what are some things that improve the Zs grip in the 1/4....
Cars with 113-117mph can run 11s on street tires....even the new 638hp Z gets it *** handed to it in the first 50mph by a lesser powered Ferrari. thoughts?

You said "excluding" drag radials, which is like tying one hand behind your back and going into the ring to box, ie: there is little which will be significant that you can do to get the car to hook better, but here are some suggestions 1) Make sure what tires you have are new and are down around 24 psi 2) Make sure your starting line driving technique is optimized for street tires 3) disable the front stablizer bar by disconnecting one link. 4) disable SRC and manually set the front shocks all the way soft and the rear shocks all the way hard 5) Optimize rear camber for drag race starts 6) Put some skinnys on the front Do all that and you may see a measurable improvement in your 60-foot.

The DRM trailing arm brackets definitely improve nose dive during braking and unexpected weight transfer, but I'm not too sure on anti-squat during accel. seems to push back kind of hard during accel in a hard corner- almost bounces back up to ride height so I figure it helps some.

Hib Ferrari is not AWD, but the engine is in the back; look at the times 911s put up with lower MPH....I have heard some people mention the thought of a steel bat wing or something to put weight over the rear tires.....hmmmm

Ok, I got the Ferrari layout wrong, but my point, in general, was that cars with better weight bias (Ferrari and RWD Porsche 911s) or AWD (Nissan GTR) are always going to have an advantage in a drag race. As for the big heavy wing idea, would the extra rear bite compensate for the extra weight? Of course the other side of the coin comes on the track. Seems the 3G ZR1 does pretty darn well on the Nordschleife at the 'Ring. And, on that note, I'll hijack this thread and put a new question out to the experts here: What would it take to make a 2G ZR1 as quick around the Nurburgring as is the 09-13 ZR1?

put a 90 ZR-1 on a 2013 ZR1 Chassis; could match the ring #
![]() Look at the times Mercedes are putting up at 3900lbs, I drove a C63 that runs 12.0s at 115 w/4 doors and less RWHP than my 92
