How many foam squares are on the underside of each cam cover? How many upper wear strips?

Is it one foam suare per cover and one end wear strip square. I dont have a cam cover in front of me so I honestly need the answer

Yep ok thats is one foam square per cam cover and one wear strip on the front edge of the cam cover right? Any other plastics under the cam cover?

I got the foam squares from Marc H. Used one per cam cover. Actually, I only replaced the pass. side. So far that appears to have been enough to reduce oil crankcase pressure. Obviously, if u are still in process of building motor, I would use one square for each cam cover. What "wear strip" are you describing?

Thanks Dom I have 4 coming in the mail I just wanted to make sure I had enough for 4 cam covers.

Yessir. I did that. Then I read somewhere about some concern about the Scotch Brite residue getting into the motor.

I've not heard/seen any evidence of harm related to SB, so I'm not in a panic to pull my covers and replace them. But, if I had the covers off again for anything, anytime soon, I'll get a couple squares from Marc and that'll be that!

I used the Scotch Brite on mine. In fact, its still there on the driver's side.
I removed it from the passenger side cam cover because I thought it may have been dense enough to where it was causing the crankcase to pressurize at WOT. I saw a small puddle of oil at the bottom of one of the cam cover bolt bosses. The bolt is next to the vent tube. After having replaced the Scotch Brite w the foam, I have not seen the oil in that bolt boss again. I have no indication that the Scotch Brite has caused any other issue with the motor after ~3500 miles.
