Driving my ZR-1 to work today....
as I was waiting in line to get on the highway (metered ramp) on my right is a guy in a Subaru with his camera phone out taking a pic to the fender emblem. He asks if it's a real ZR-1 because he's never seen one before. He was very impressed and voiced his approval that I drive it

Re: Driving my ZR-1 to work today....
Yep! That's cool!
Last year on the way to BG, a kid in a ricer drove along side Marc, Dominic, and me snapping pix. Gave me a too as he sped up to Dom. Seems the majority of the people that have a "oh, LOOK!" tend to be the younger crowd. Anyway, as they used to say when I was in the Navy: "Smoke um if ya gotum!" Enjoy the KOTH! P.

Re: Driving my ZR-1 to work today....
It happens every now and then. I even had another corvette guy with a C3 at the car wash say that's not a real ZR-1 to me. Then he asked me to pop the hood. I did and he looked pretty stupid. Then he hands me a business card with pics of his C3 and C4 on it and invites me to a cruise with his club. I hand his card back to him and say no thanks. I don't do clubs anymore. Moron.

Re: Driving my ZR-1 to work today....
That happened to me my first day of ownership, and never since. A PT cruiser pulled up next to me on the Interstate, rolled down the window, snapped a pic and left. I've been waiting for it to happen again but just haven't noticed. Maybe because everyone uses their phones for pictures now instead of a camera?

Just press the go pedal and show him the LT5 emblem on the bumper

I drive mine to work every day that it's nice outside. Nothing like it.

Re: Driving my ZR-1 to work today....
-To most adults, it's just a C4- not worth a lot.
-To people over 60, it's a clean azz 90's vette. They miss the style. -To kids -the real little ones-- They have never really seen anything like it before and they turn their head the most when I drive around town. I will say the popularity of the new C6 ZR1 has made people 'see' the badge on the rear and recognize the model. |
