Default coolant bypass valve mod

This is the change I made to my bypass hose. Its a ball valve that I can adjust depending on my needs. After street and track testing under various air temps from 30-71 degree, the results are in. I will find out about air temps above 71 this summer, but I figure they will be as expected. I can run on the street in 30 degree weather at 190 coolant and 190 oil temps (valve open) and run 180 coolant and 180 oil temps (valved closed) at the track under extreme road racing conditions.
In case anyone doesnt know, I dont use a standard type radiator, oil cooler or LT5 thermostat. The thermo is a 160 degree unit from the old LT1 engine. I have 8 holes drilled in the perimeter. I used to run 4 holes, but changed to the eight for the new bypass valve. To run 190 degree coolant temps in 30 degree weather has always required my radiator to be blocked with a piece of cardboard, but with the valve open, the temps are much more stable then in the past.

That's a slick answer, Mike!.

I hope you see what you are after during the heat of the summer!
