coolant sensors on driver side IH. Sealant type?
Honestly, I search but I don't see the answers most times..
Had to take the coolant sensors out in the driver side IH to PC. What sealant do I use to put them back in. I am assuming that plumbers tape would insulate it...probably not a good idea right?

I use the liquid loctite pipe sealant. It comes in a white tube but I cant remember the number, maybe 647.

teflon tape, aka plumbers tape, is fine, but I concur with 65ZR1's recommendation, which is Loctite 565.

I've had good luck with permatex 'aviation style' form-a-gasket. It is like that brown pipe dope sealant- super gooey. very effective, but a little messy if you are going for a show and shine perfect engine compartment if it is visible.

Re: coolant sensors on driver side IH. Sealant type?
Great I'll use whichever one I find first, but for informational purposes, do they use their threaded outer housing for a ground connection or no?
I believe one of them has 2 wires. I assume that one is a reference voltage and the other wire is the return? The other wire has only one wire, so I'm not sure how this would be useful without the houseing being a ground. Thoughts? Sorry for all the questions. I'm trying to learn too. I hate just being a parts changer.
