Default Still waiting...

Well #099 arrived in LA but thats as far as she's gotten. Seems she's too low to put on a regular truck, the air-dam is only 3.5 inches off the ground. Maybe I should just fly in and drive her home...

Sounds like a fun plan.

OR

Just fly me out there and I'll drive her to your door step. No problem.

She's in Vegas... Just not to my house yet...

Car's air dam is sooooo Looow that the truck driver didn't want to re-load her back on the truck after dropping some other cars off at the terminal. He asked if he could pick me up and then I would drive her the final 13 miles. Of course I agreed...

My first impressions was OMG! I'm going to jail for stealing this one... I cannot believe all the Mods on this car. I'll have to investigate and post a list. Much more than I realized, some I've never seen before.

I had received some pictures from Hawaii ZR-1 prior to getting the car so I knew she wouldn't be perfect however I am very pleased. The Interior is PERFECT. No ware on the seat and all the carpets and mats look new. The roll bar is nicely done and looks new as well. This guy was the original owner and it looks like he took care of her. The exterior has some rash behind the wheel wells and she now has some fresh damage to the air dam that the shipping company will have to repair. Other than that, she's OK. I was real skeptical on the body panels but as it turns out I really, really like them. And so did some other's that made some nice comments at the local gas station. Looks like they'll stay on the car...

Under the hood was also impressive. That Siamese plenum is a thing of beauty. She does need some cleaning and a few hose changes (he used red heater hose from the thermostat housing to the HVAC area and it looks not so good...) but she's not going to need too much...

When I started her the first time she reminded me of a cammed 415. She's got a good rumble however she's not too loud. Matter of fact, she's more quiet on the inside than my stock car with B&B's. Trouble is she quit as soon as she got to temperature. Looks like I have the dreaded fuel pump failure. I did post the symptoms in the tech section just in case someone has other idea's but I'm pretty sure that its the primary fuel pump. Well, crap happens... and as you know, the pumps can take a dump at any time...

All in all, I've still got the ZR-1 GRIN

Cheers,
RH

Indeed

When I bought mine I flew to CA and drove it back across the country to FL in 3 days.
