Somewhere in this forum I remember seeing a post about shipping one Roadway or other freight carrier pretty cheap. It was like a 10-12 delivery if time is no problem.

I can tell you that you'll need to protect the entire engine, with a crate somehow: don't just strap it to a pallet and expect it to arrive intact.
Another thing is how to protect it from moisture, especially within the truck containers that go in the ships hold and on deck. Well oiled and within a sealed plastic wrap with those moisture paks inside. If you've ever seen a jet ski/waverunner in its box then that looks about right.
They are on a wooden pallet but the pallet is enclosed within a steel beam frame and the jetski sealed inside.
The one time I enquired, about two years ago, I could ship an MGA from Houston to Amsterdam for about US $2,000. I would think an engine would be considerably cheaper. Look for the nearest ports to you and to the engine location and have the person selling the engine call the Port Authority, who can direct him to a shipper who will quote it. Depending on shipping within any given country, you might have to drive to the port nearest you to pick it up.

I just got a LT5 from N.Y. state. Shipping was NOT cheap: Several hundred dollars. This was using Yellow Freight. You might try all the usual suspects, even UPS. I've gotten some really heavy stuff from them.
Unless you have a business adddress you might have to go to the terminal to pick it up.
Somewhat lighter (hah), a 6 sp. ZF for a ZR1 costs $150 from eastern Al./or west Fl., to
the teriminal, in Austin, Texas.
