Lower A-arm Replacement
I am looking at replacing both lower A-arms on my 90 Z and was crawling around under the car the other day sizing up the job. It looks like it's going to be a real PITA. From what I can see, it looks as though you must remove the engine mount support bracket to get the rear bolt out of the A-arm. Is this the case?

Re: Lower A-arm Replacement
Remove the motor mount nut, then two 15mm bolts and two 13mm bolts and the support drops out. Not as bad as it looks.

Re: Lower A-arm Replacement
It is a very easy job, hardest part is getting the rear bolts out.

Re: Lower A-arm Replacement
Rich,
I have an NOS drivers side lower A-arm you are welcome to. I picked up a full set from Corvette Recycling a while back when they were running a sale. This one has a split in the ball joint dust boot that they sent me a complete replacement A-arm for and didn't want this one returned. I'm sure there are replacement dust boots around. Phil BTW why were you crawling around under the car for? Is the four post lift we helped you set up on the fritz? Last edited by Jagdpanzer; 11-11-2010 at 05:56 PM. |

Re: Lower A-arm Replacement
You can get a set of polyurethane ball joint dust boots from Energy Suspension. I have them and they are nice.

Sold!!! Thanks you are the man!! Maybe we can hook up one of these days. I need to do both up and lower A-arms and was going to get them from Corvette Recycling. Crawling around was a figure of speech. I am using the lift weeky, although I have to use a rolling stool. I can't quite stand up under the car, but not too bad. Rich
