Default Blowin Accessory Fuse

The Accessory fuse (radio, ac, cigar lighter, interor lights) keeps blowing on me. Its a dead short - as soon as the fuse is inserted its gone. It seems to clear up sometimes, then comes back. Any common areas I should look?

Cigar lighter may be shorted out or stuck in. try unplugging it and see if the fuse lives.

I did some work on my sisters car once because she had the same problem. Turns out a penny had fallen down the lighter hole.

Good luck,

100% agree with whats been posted. If you had a 91 and up the other possibility was a short in the assessory wire under the console next to the FX-3 controls.

Thanks, all. I did take the center console apart to have the radio R&R'd (Dr. Don's), but it was blowing before then. I looked over all the wiring under the console and it seemed all good, but has begun again. As I said earlier, seems to come and go.

Your only hope is to start disconnecting circuits one at a time, and you need the FSM electrical section 8 for the wiring diagrams. If you don't have one, I'll be glad to help either here or on the phone. I don't envy you - it took me a lloonngg time to find an
intermittent AC fuse blowing problem on wifey's L98 car.
