Well after porting the intake, putting on a lightweight flywheel, headers, etc.....turns out the damn engine is in bad shape.
You might recall after hitting a 12.88 Qtr Mile early last year, 6 weeks later the car only turned out a 303rwhp Dyno test.....also some smoke at idle. Well the smoke is progressively getting worse......will check compression this weekend, looks like I will be pulling the motor for new valve guides, or more ![]()

Maybe it's just cleaning itself?
Sorry to hear that. Which car is it that's smoking? |

Is the 90 139K miles and was rebuilt at 70.....assuming that they did not replace the valve guides on the rebuild.

![]() ![]() I'm not sure the sensors were "completely accurate" last night. The right lane only registered 1000' and final time and trap. I ran my best time at 12.7 @ 115.1. Best ET for me but trap was pretty slow compared to my best at 118.6. There was a Nickey Camaro there that was running 12.0@120mph which seemed slow to me for the power it had. Not sure whether GLD traps at the end or in the previous 60'. My Z06 wheels are slightly taller so my rear gear just dropped from a 3.45 to x.xx. On the plus side the new clutch slave worked great and no 2nd gear misses. Also the new tires hooked better on the 1-2 shift. Previously I had to let off in mid track tom regain traction. Overall I wasn't displeased for being the first time out this year. Great night tho for racing with quite a crowd showing up. LOTS of S/C Vettes and Stangs there. |
