Rev limiter/ brake light?
I don't often wind my car up too tight but when I do take it up to the 7,000 rpm the brake light comes on . WTF, is this normal, is this part of the rev limiter? If not, any suggestions welcomed.

Re: Rev limiter/ brake light?
Check the fluid level in your master cylinder -- the fluid level may be shifting, causing the light to come on. It seems the C4 is particularly sensitive to levels being just slightly low.

So if you're looking to buy a C4 you might want to check the fluid levels....might save you some money! My cash offer......$2000. Last edited by IowaZR-1; 03-27-2010 at 05:44 PM. |

Re: Rev limiter/ brake light?
Hey guys thanks for the insight, brake fluid, huh? Checked and the level seems low, worth a try! I'll have to check with the previous owner, I think he may have changed to synthetic fluid but not sure.
Yesterday while washing my car, as I was washing the inner wheel wells my sponge hit the brake line where it meets the hose and attaches to the frame. I hear this click-click noise, this is the noise I've been hearing for two years and I found it while washing my car! Hopefully the brake fluid solves my problem. CJ |
