Going to do some drag racing tomorrow and try the Mickeys out and see what kinda times she will lay down.
![]() But it's not going to happen with these street tires. ![]() I guess I'm a little worried because even though the Mickeys are the same size as our front tires I also know that when it comes to drag radials, that is more than enough to stick and snap U-joints. It will be the first time using drag radials. So I'm crossing my fingers. |

Don't be affraid to let some air out.
I run my 315 MT DRs down to 16-18 psi if the track was not hooking well. |

rick with the 275x40x17s dont go lower than 18, believe me they will hook awsome in the 19-21 range .if you go lower than 18 with the 275s you will feel like a squirrel monkey on ice at the big end . the 315s with the shorter sidewall you can get away with 16. my car with the 315s hooks best at 19.. just remember to back into the water box otherwise your front tires carry water to the starting line . have a great time .let me know how you did.

Good luck!
Can't help ya w/ your launch technique tho...Never raced on drag Rs either, so some "clutch finesse" recommendations will have to come from Pete or Bob G or one of the other bros of the Beast. ![]() Not to steal you thread, but SAY!...What are those rocker panels ya have on there? I'm usually not a fan of much of the aftermarket "ground effects" stuff, but your rockers...well...ROCK! ![]() Good lookin Z, bro! P. Last edited by Paul Workman; 02-20-2010 at 06:23 AM. |

ricks car has 49 street rocker panels , they dont make them anymore , which is too bad ,i agree they are way cool . rick your launch rpm should be between 3500 4000 rpm do a quick release of the clutch so its ingaged in the first 10 feet . dont pop it that can spit ouyt a half shaft ( dont ask how i know ). shift rpms i would start at 6700 and go up from there . your limiting factor is you dont have headers yet. knock em dead buddy

Yes the rockers look fantastic. They were on it when I bought it. I have to say that out of all the possession that I've owned in my life that even after 3 year of ownig this car I'm still nuts over it. My wife and daughters are coming out to whatch and video it. Usually I just go with the boys. But today its a family affair.
